Wanna Go Fast?

What fun is a secure service if it can't be fast!

Performance Tuning

It takes more than just a pair of Mickey Thompson slicks to get that quarter mile time down. What good are all of these security precautions if we can't some fun too (well they are more important than speed..)! I'll configure an applicable application or service of your choice to feed the need for speed.

It varies per application or service as I also consider security as well. For some applications or services, this may not happen overnight. Generally some metrics are needed in order to establish a baseline of demand. From there I am able to gauge how close we can get to the red line without a rod flying out. There may be an additional fee for monitoring and post tuning maintenance depending on the application order service.

I understand who you are and will work with you.

Have a service you need tuning that is not on my list? Let me know and I may offer it! As an incentive I'll offer you a discount if you are my first customer for the service!

Feed the need for speed!

Turbo charge Apache and MySQL!

I don't list prices as every server is unique.

How much?

What's Included

I'll take some metrics on memory usage, number of visitors to your site and tweak some settings. Often the default configurations either use too much memory or not enough! It can also leave open a lot of unused connections that basically just waste resources (save a digital tree!).

  • Apache

The default configuration spawns too many connections. I can often cut memory usage in half by starting up just the number of processes needed. I also change the timing on how long a connection is available as well as how long it will wait before serving another visitor. You may have the fastest server in the world but if Apache is only able to listen to two people and wait five minutes before moving on to someone else, then all the cores in the world won't matter!

  • MySQL

As with any default configuration, it's meant to be generic and vague, guaranteed to work just about anywhere. I'll perform some benchmarking in conjunction with taking metrics to see how far we can push it.  To get the best information, I need to see the server under heavy load to get the maximum performance tuning.

Too much service for you?

I've got you covered!

Individual Services

I understand one size does not fit all. All services in the package are offered individually so you can tailor to your needs.

  • Apache

The default configuration spawns too many connections. I can often cut memory usage in half by starting up just the number of processes needed. I also change the timing on how long a connection is available as well as how log it will wait before serving another visitor. You may have the fastest server in the world but if Apache is only able to listen to two people and wait five minutes before moving on to someone else, then all the cores in the world won't matter!

Include as little or as much as you need. If I see that you will be better served by a combined package, I'll let you know and get you switched over.
